Blood orange, cacao nibs and a little kick of chilli are brought together to make a zesty, fresh tasting treat to tantalise your tastebuds. 

 

Cacao nibs are small pieces of crushed cacao, or cocoa, beans — that have a bitter, chocolatey flavour and are a good source of fiber, protein, and healthy fats . They’re rich in many minerals, including iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, manganese, and copper. The cacao nibs we use are classed as raw, meaning they're unroasted. During our cooking process they keep their form and don't break down into the preserve, leaving little nuggets of savoury orangey chocolatey goodness to bite on.

 

Blood oranges have an almost raspberry like undertone to their citrus flavour and boast a crimson, blood-like, flesh, which helps give this preserve a distinctive bold red colour.

 

We've used ripe fire flame chillies to pair with the other ingredients, which have a natural sweetness and juicy thick flesh. The heat is there, but more as an underlying background flavour than in your face wallop.

 

Add a dollop to your cheeseboard or cold meats, Serve on top of your BBQ burgers, chicken, ribs or halloumi. Use to glaze a ham or gammon before baking. Stir into your stir-fry. Sandwich with cheddar cheese and spring onions for the ultimate toastie. Dip your prawn crackers into it. Serve over ice cream or with vanilla cheesecake.
